Sharath has created this 50-hour module and shaped the course to deliver the most educational, practical and life-changing experience. The training is designed to challenge and develop individuals at all levels.

What might be on the horizon?

Our 50-hour course specializes in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and the creative sequencing of Vinyasa Yoga, with a strong emphasis on Asana practice. Our curriculum includes:

    • Developing a robust self-practice routine
    • Enhancing your technique, confidence, skills, and in-depth knowledge
    • Comprehensive grasp of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and Vinyasa yoga sequencing skills
    • Asana analysis, adjustment theory, and practical application
    • In-depth study of Pranayama and Chanting
    • Afternoon workshops dedicated to practicing Vinyasa Yoga and mastering the art of sequence creation
    • A unique workshop on animal movements and handstands inspired by Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art
    • Exploration of methodology, theory, philosophy, and anatomy/physiology
    • Insights into basic Ayurveda, nutrition, healing, and rejuvenation in the context of yoga practice

What You Can Expect:

7 Days of Mysore Style Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Experience hands-on adjustments with 7 days of Ashtanga Mysore style practice, concluding with a led class on the final day.

Morning Routine

Each day begins with Daily Practice, an hour of pranayama, meditation, and mantra chanting, followed by an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga class.

Late Morning Session

Focus on in-depth learning of asanas with an emphasis on alignment, adjustments, and teaching methodology. Dive into the theoretical aspects of asanas and Teaching Skills.

Early Afternoon Studies

Alternate between studying Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, or Yoga Nidra.

Afternoon Workshops

Engage in specialized workshops on creative Vinyasa, mastering the art of creating sequences. Topics include hip opening, backbending, and inversions.

Traditional Ashtanga Practice

Early mornings will emphasize traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga practice, aiming to develop a solid self-practice.

    Teaching Practice

    From day one, you will begin teaching segments of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga sequence, building the confidence to lead an Ashtanga class by the end of the course.

    Focused Afternoon Classes

    Afternoon classes will concentrate on Vinyasa Yoga techniques and the art of creating specialized classes, covering topics such as hip opening, backbending, and inversions.

    Requirements

    Participants are required to attend all classes and lectures to ensure the success of the training. We welcome participants from all nationalities and language backgrounds, and our material and lessons are delivered in clear and straightforward English. Please note that all classes and the exam will be conducted in English. To fully benefit from the training, we recommend that participants have a foundation in fundamental yoga postures. The more comfortable you are as a yoga practitioner, the more you will be able to focus on the teaching and transformational aspects of the course.

    What is

    Ashtanga Yoga

    Ashtanga Yoga, which translates to “eight-limbed yoga,” is a traditional and dynamic form of yoga that traces its roots back to ancient Indian spiritual practices. The term “ashtanga” comes from the Sanskrit words “ashta” (eight) and “anga” (limb), referring to the eightfold path of yoga described by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.

    Ashtanga Yoga, as a physical practice, was popularized in the 20th century and is now taught worldwide. It is organized into six series: the Primary, two Intermediate, and four Advanced series. These sequences are designed to build upon each other, developing strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina in both the body and the mind.

    The Primary Series, called Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy), consists of a sequence of asanas (poses) held for five breaths each and linked by other asanas. Throughout the practice, breath is synchronized with movement, a technique known as vinyasa. The practice begins with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations) A & B, followed by standing poses, the Primary Series, and a finishing sequence.

    Ashtanga Yoga’s rigorous and structured approach aims to create internal heat, purifying the body and mind. This practice helps practitioners cultivate self-discipline, concentration, and a deeper awareness of themselves. Through the repetition of the asanas in a specific order, practitioners can focus deeply on their practice and observe their own progress over time.

    Ashtanga Yoga has also influenced several other styles of yoga, such as Vinyasa, Power Yoga, and Rocket Yoga, each incorporating elements of the Ashtanga system while adapting to different needs and preferences.

    In contrast to Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga is a more gentle and accessible form of yoga that also encompasses physical postures (asanas) but typically focuses more on static poses held for longer durations with an emphasis on breath control and meditation.

      This YTT was definitely one of the most transformative experiences in my life. The location is perfect, Lembongan is a little paradise where you'll always be greeted with a smile. The calmness and slow pace of the island helped us get immersed in the yoga training even more. I did a 200hs Vinyasa and Yin YTT. Our Vinyasa teacher, Pilu, is definitely a force to recon with. She created a open and safe space during our practices, motivated and challenged us, and explained even the hardest things in a very understandable way. Claire, our Yin teacher, has so much wisdom and grace and she not only taught us how to slow down and listen to our bodies , but shared her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well. The manager, Audrey, helped us with all and every question you have. She helped me get my visa extended in the least painful way possible. Special thank for Rara for the amazing, delicious breakfast every day (I still miss that breakfast honestly) and keeping everything in check!       I was completely new to yoga and booked 5 sessions as we were staying across the road. Really enjoyed the Yin, Visnyasa and Flow classes with Claire. She is a lovely, inclusive teacher who caters to multiple abilities within a class and gives good clear explanations about a particular practice or pose.       I came here to boost my yoga practice and bought the monthly pass for unlimited classes - it was such amazing value and the studio is lovely with a pool and bean bags to chill after class. Simple, unpretentious, and playful, accessible teachers (thank you Audrey, Delphine and Pilu!). I loved the simplicity of the schedule - classes everyday at 8.30am, 9.45am and 5pm. Definitely pop in if you're in Lembongan ๐Ÿ™‚

      An amazing week of yoga with Yoga Dunia Lembongan! +: - Amazing teachers, very kind - Great location on the island - Beautiful space to do yoga, opening area, beautiful pool - Offers 2 classes of yoga per day -: - none I took a package online which included boat to go/come back from the island, hotel x 4 nights, 6 sessions of yoga, diving and a massage. It was great, but I think it would cost less to pay things individually then by taking the package online. It was convenient for me given I was traveling alone for the first time.
